More than 50 million people are playing poker at least once a month. With the explosion of online poker and televised poker tournaments like the World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker, Atlantic City casino poker rooms is quickly becoming one fo the most popular destinations for poker players worldwide.

Poker players visiting Atlantic City poker rooms will find plenty of action.  Casinos are offering a wide array of poker games and formats; from cash games, to sit and go single table tournaments, to multi-table no limit Texas Hold Em tournaments on a daily basis.

Cash games are just that.  Players buy into a table with chips of actual value.  Cash games can range from $2/$4, $3/$6, $5/$10, on up.  Poker players can take part in Texas Hold Em, Omaha, or 7 card stud.

Sit and Go Tournaments are single table (10 players) No Limit Texas Holdem tournaments. Poker players pay an entry to get a predetermined number of chips (typically 1000) with the top three finishers getting paid.

Multi-Table No Limit Texas Holdem Tournaments are just like those featured on television.  Entry fees can begin for as little as $50 with the top ten finishers typically splitting the prize money.

Below is a summary of some of the poker games featured at each of the Atlantic City casino poker rooms.

Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort.  The Hilton Poker Room offers 22 poker tables, located on the second floor of the property. Offers evening poker leagues and “Ladies Night” on Fridays. 
Tournaments run seven day a week: 
Monday through Friday: buy-in $60. Tournament begins at 2 p.m. 
Friday and Saturday nights: buy in $100. Tournament begins at 7 p.m. 
Sunday “Brunch Crunch”: buy in $100. Tournament begins at 3 p.m. 

Bally's Atlantic City.  Bally's Poker Room offers 20 poker tables, located on the sixth floor of the property. Includes fifteen Texas Hold 'em games and 5 Stud games. 
No Limit Texas Hold 'em tournaments: Every Wednesday and Friday night 
Wednesday: buy-in $60 with $15 entry fee. Registration begins at 5pm, with the tournament beginning at 6pm 
Friday: buy-in $100 with $20 fee. Tournament begins at 9pm 
The Texas Hold 'em cash games available will be $2/$4, $3/$6 and $5/$10.

Bally's Wild Wild West. The Bally's Wild Wild West Poker Room is located on the main casino floor. 
Ten new non-smoking poker tables, located next to the simulcast area, are available. This provides 100 new spaces for non-smoking poker players. 
Newcomers can experience Texas Hold 'em, and Seven-Card Stud. 
No Limit Hold 'em tournaments are held on Wednesday at 6pm and Friday at 9pm 
Sit & Go Poker tournaments are held daily from 10am to 12 midnight. Buy-in fee is $50 and entry fee is $15. 
No Limit Hold 'em with minimum of 8 and maximum of 10 players to a table, with two winners per table.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.  The Borgata Poker Room, home of the World Poker Tour Borgata Open, offers No Limit Texas Hold 'em tournaments with different buy-in levels every weekday, ranging from $50 to $500 and entry levels ranging from $15 to $50. 
The Borgata Poker ROom features plush seating and plasma screens throughout. 

Harrah's Atlantic City.  The Harrah's Poker Room offers 28 tables in a brand new expansion. 
Players can earn comps for poker. LCD TVs with sporting events are shown daily. Tournament poker games are scheduled daily. Voted "Best Poker Tournaments" by readers of Casino Player magazine.

Resorts Atlantic City. Resort's new poker room opened in May 2005 on the Boardwalk side of the main casino and offers Thursday Night Texas Hold 'em tournaments. Players have the choice of playing Texas Hold 'em as well as Seven-Card Stud at one of nine tables.

Sands Casino Hotel. The Sand's Poker Room is located on the fourth floor and includes 15 tables, beverage service and is non-smoking. Open 12 noon to 4am Monday through Thursday and 24 hours on weekends. 
The Sands will open a new poker room on the casino floor in December 2005. 
No Limit Texas Hold 'em tournaments: 
Sundays 2pm, buy-in $60 + $20 
Wednesday 2pm, buy-in $20 + $10 
Friday 8pm, buy-in $50 + $15 
Saturday 5pm, buy-in $150 + $25 
Reservations are first come, first served. Registration is one hour prior to start.  

Showboat. The Showboat House of Blues Poker Room features 25 poker tables.  The Showboat will host the World Series of Poker circuit events November 28 through December 9, buy-ins ranging from $300 up to $10,000. 
Provides simulcasting and has tableside food and beverage service available. 
Texas Hold 'em no-limit tournaments take place Sunday through Thursday 11am and 7pm $50. 
Comp time is given for live action play. 
Texas Hold 'em and Seven-Card Stud games available.

Tropicana Casino and Resort. The  Trop Poker Club is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is a full-service, smoke free, state-of-the-art simulcast facility. Features 48 tables. Variety of the most popular games including No Limit Hold 'em, Seven-Card Stud and Omaha. Live action, tournament and private tables are available on a daily basis. The Poker Club uses a customized rating system that tracks your play by "zapping" your poker club card every hour, while you're playing in a live game. (Each live game earns comp dollars from 50 cents to $2.00 per hour. Comp dollars are valid for up to one year from date earned. Partial or full comps may be used towards room charges, including taxes and room fees.)  Tournaments are offered seven days a week with a variety of buy-ins.

Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort. The Taj Mahal Poker Room features 70 tables and was the first non-smoking poker room. Official host of the US Poker Championship, held every fall, and the Trump Classic, held in December. 
There are daily poker tournaments Monday through Friday at 12:15pm and 6:15pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 10:15am and 6:15pm. No Limit Texas Hold 'em and Sit & Go tournaments are very popular, with different buy-in rates. Also features Seven-Card Stud, Omaha, and other Hi-Lo games. Offers free poker instruction for beginners daily.
